ELU-2
Hand The Elu2-Hand has 9 degrees of freedom that are servo actuated within the hand’s volume. The hand achieves many life-like actuations through linked movements, such as; cupping of the hand and combined knuckle flexion. Whilst originally designed to fit onto the Elu2-Arm the compact Elu2-Hand design means it may be fitted onto many different robot arms. The Elu2-Hand has been engineered for power, precision and reliability utilising a plastic-metal hybrid construction for lightness of weight combined with strength and durability. The Elu2-Hand hand has large conformable soft pad areas that aid the hand manipulate objects and in its interact with people; the pads also provide the potential for tactile sensing. Efficient back-drivable finger transmissions enable the use of motor-current to indicate joint torque. In addition each degree of freedom has the potential for ultra reliable non-contact absolute sensing and limit switches providing extra positioning redundancy for safety critical applications. The powerful and compact Elu2-Hand has many possible uses ranging from research through to medical applications. |
